Picking Performer Ewes Pilot Workshop - Bathurst
PICKING PERFORMER EWES
DIALING UP THE REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCE AND SUSTAINABILITY OF YOUR FLOCK
AWI will be hosting two pilots of their Picking Performer Ewes workshops. AWI has undertaken a review and updated the workshop content to reflect current industry practices, and the purpose of the pilots is to test the content before full release of the workshop.
Picking Performer Ewes looks at the importance of within-flock selection on reproductive performance of breeding ewes.
At the workshop participants will learn about the impact of whole of life reproductive performance - Net Reproductive Rate (NRR) on the overall productivity of the flock. Also discussed will be how to identify those ewes that are not performing their role in the breeding flock, as well as some strategies to manage these animals out of the core breeding flock, with the end goal to be high performing, consistent production in all seasons.
There is no charge to attend the pilot workshops, however you will be required to provide detailed feedback about the workshop on the day.
Morning tea, lunch and all workshop materials are included.
Please contact the AWI Extension NSW Team at awiextensionnsw@wool.com if you have any questions regarding this workshop.
