The weather experienced across much of NSW this autumn and winter has been unseasonally wet and warm. This is potentially setting us up for a great spring ahead. We all love a good start to spring but unfortunately so do the flies!! Flies are on the move and they threaten to be problematic this year. If there was ever a year to be proactive and not reactive in your fly management it is this year. Planning starts NOW!

Our August 2024 webinar will focus on preparing for this year’s fly season to minimise the impacts flies will have on your flock.

We will be joined by one of our regulars, Dr Tim Gole, For Flocks Sake. Tim will bring a wealth of knowledge to the webinar, a veterinarian passionate about optimising sheep production and performance. Tim is also a qualified deliverer of AWI’s flagship flystrike workshop, SimpliFly™. AWI will also be on hand to update you on available tools and workshops from their AWI Flystrike Extension Program for use on-farm.

The webinar will discuss the following topics:

- What you can expect this fly season

- Conditions favourable to flystrike

- Proactive vs reactive on farm management

- Management options and chemical resistance

- AWI Flystrike Extension Program

As always, there will be ample time for questions – and we strongly encourage you to ask ahead of time if that suits. You can send in your questions via email to awiextensionnsw@wool.com before 22 August and we will pass these onto Tim.
